"I went and it was a lovely day in Truro.
We met up at The Barley Pub in Truro , which was Gaddsy's local ; Steve, Nicko , Laz ,Michael Kenney and Tony Newton were already there.I went to the Cathedral with Nicko's son (who's a friend of mine) at just after 3pm.The Cathedral was packed , there was family , friends , band members , crew members etc etc. I sat towards the back.We sang Morning has Broken , then Steve Thompson (a lifelong friend of Gaddsy) got up a read his tribute.A young girl called Sarah then sang a very moving version of Chasing Cars.Nicko then got up and read his tribute , which was amusing and also very heartfelt (they had known each other for 48 years !!).There was some readings after than from the lady minister , then we sang Abide with Me.The coffin was then carried out by Steve,Bruce,Adrian,Nicko,Laz and Ian Day to Won't get Fooled Again by The Who.
After the service we all went back to The Barley pub for the wake and there were pictures of Gaddsy on the walls from all eras of his life.I also signed the book that was there as a memorial / tribute to him".
